Stoke Ski Race Club

We are a ski race club based at Stoke Ski Centre on Festival Park, Stoke on Trent, but are independent of the centre and run entirely by parents on a voluntary basis.

Training is held every Thursday evening throughout the year from 7pm to 8.30pm and is open to anyone who, having been assessed by the coaches, meets the minimum standard of parallel turns and the ability to stop safely at speed. All of our coaches are unpaid volunteers who are qualified by and registered with Snow Sports England coaching scheme. As racers progress we also have an invitational Tuesday evening training session for those racers registered with Snow Sport England and who regularly compete on the national circuit at Club National and Grand Prix level.

As a ski race club our main emphasis is on the development of ski racing. Our younger members, who are just starting out compete throughout the summer and winter at different fun races held around the country by other ski clubs and of course at our own summer race events. We also have a number of more experienced skiers who compete for Stoke Ski Race Team at the highest level nationally during the summer and internationally throughout the winter season.
